Parkinson Lane Community Primary school (Charlotte Moran) This tribute to Janet is on behalf of all the children, staff and parents she has worked with over the many years at school. Janet was a very professional, caring person, and was always happy to help anyone when she came to school. Janet really became part of the Parkinson Lane family every time she came. Janet wouldn't think twice about offering to help with a trip or the Nativity, even if it wasn't her day to be at school she would change her days around just to be there. Janet will be missed by so many of us at Parkinson Lane.
I met Janet in my role working for the specialist Inclusion Service for Calderdale. I was asked to go and work with a group of ladies who supported babies from birth upto 3 years old and their families. Janet made me so welcome and showed me the ropes of working with multi sensory children, I was VI trained ( worked with blind students) . Janet I sadly found out about your passing on Monday. I thank you for showing me the ropes and will remember you always . I have often thought of you Since I left the service in 2018 and every time I collect a small packet of pepper , makes me think of you when we used to go for breakfast and out came the pepper. My Wife and I met Janet in very sad circumstances. Our Daughter, Leanne Brown, was a neighbour of Janet. In July 2023 Leanne died as a result of a pulmonary embolism. Janet helped me try CPR on Leanne. Sadly it was too late. Janet also helped me answering any questions that the police asked when they arrived. I really don't know how we would have coped without her. The 3 of us became good friends. Janet had a special place in our hearts. Rest In Peace, Janet
