Mum ❤️ I honestly don’t know how you’re supposed to sum up a person like my mum in a few words… because she wasn’t exactly a woman who could be summed up. 😂 She was Mum. My mum. The person who could drive me absolutely bloody mad one minute and have me crying with laughter the next. She could be stubborn, opinionated, dramatic, loving, hilarious, bossy and completely wonderful — sometimes all before breakfast. 😂 She loved her family fiercely, and there was never any doubt about who belonged to her. She had her ways, her sayings, her little habits and her VERY definite opinions… and God help you if you disagreed with her. You could try, but you were never going to win. 😂 But one of the things I loved most about Mum was seeing her become completely unapologetic in her last year. She stopped worrying about what people thought. She said what she thought, when she thought it, and if somebody didn't like it… well, quite frankly… “I don’t give a shit!” 😂 And honestly, good for her. She had spent enough of her life worrying about other people, and in the end she decided she was going to be completely and unapologetically Mum. Brutally honest. No filter. No pretending. No giving a damn about anyone’s opinion. And I bloody loved that about her. I'm going to miss all those ordinary little bits of her that I probably took for granted. Her voice. Her laugh. Her moaning. Her advice that I didn't ask for. The conversations that went round in circles. The things only Mum would say. The feeling of knowing she was just there. I know there will be days when missing her is bloody painful. But I don't want this page to only be about the sadness. I want it to be about the woman she was. The laughs. The stories. The arguments. The ridiculous moments. The memories that will have us saying, “Oh my God, remember when Mum…?” and then laughing until we cry. Because that’s how I want to remember her. Not just the end. All of it. My mum. My pain in the arse. My biggest supporter. My biggest critic. My friend. And one of the most important people I will ever know. I will miss you more than words could ever explain. But I promise you this, Mum — you will never be forgotten. Your stories will be told. Your sayings will be repeated. Your photo will be shown. Your name will be mentioned for generations. And knowing you, you'll probably still be sticking your oar in from wherever you are, telling us exactly what you think. 😂❤️ So here's to you, Mum. For being completely, unapologetically YOU. For teaching me that sometimes you have to stop giving a shit what other people think. And for leaving us with enough memories, stories and chaos to keep us talking about you forever. Love you forever, Mum. Until we meet again. ❤️🕊️
