My favorite memory of my nana was 2019 Christmas when everyone was at my auntie Wendy’s and we were all exchanging gifts and having a nice time everyone was so happy and another favorite is when she was driving and i was 7 and she was singing a song that I didn’t know but she looked so happy and gorgeous
Nana wasn’t just my grandmother. She was the highlight of my life, someone who brought so much love, laughter and personality into all of our lives. She was an amazing person, a loving mother, wife and grandmother, and I feel so lucky that I got to call her my Nana. There are so many memories of Nana that I will carry with me forever. I’ll always remember sitting in the car with her, singing Think Twice together. I’ll remember the little things too — like when I had a packet of crisps, put them down for a second, and Nana immediately said, “Oh, I’ll have them for supper.” 😂 Those are the moments that might seem small to other people, but they mean everything to me now. Nana always said, “What you see is what you get, and if you don’t like it, you know where the door is.” That was Nana — she was completely herself, and you always knew exactly where you stood with her. She had such a big personality, and there will never be another person quite like her. I’m going to miss so much about her. I’ll miss her hugs. I’ll miss her asking me to take her out for a cigarette. And I’ll even miss hearing her shouting at my Grandad when he farted. 😂 Those are the things I never thought I would miss, but I would give anything to hear them again. I wish I could have one more hug. I wish I could sit beside her one more time. I wish I could hear her voice and tell her just one more time how much I love her. Nana, I hope you knew how much you meant to me. I hope you knew how deeply you were loved. I’m going to miss you more than words could ever explain. You made me promise that I would stay strong, and I’m going to try my hardest to keep that promise. I also promised you that I would never touch wacky baccy again, and I’m going to keep that promise too. Every time I make the choice to stay strong, a little part of me will know I’m doing it for you. I don’t know how I’m supposed to say goodbye to someone who was such a huge part of my life. But I do know that saying goodbye doesn’t mean forgetting you. Your love, your laughter, your voice and all those little memories will stay with me forever. And although today is goodbye, I know the love you and Grandad shared will always be a part of our family. I’ll be there for him, just as I’ll be there for everyone else who is missing you. Nana Sheila, I love you. I wish I could tell you that one more time. Thank you for every hug, every laugh, every song, every memory and every moment. You were, and always will be, the highlight of my life. I love you forever until we meet again
